Kenneth Strickland
Kenneth Strickland is a Kundalini Yoga teacher who was born in Memphis and raised in poor rural communities throughout the South. Graduating from Duke University in 2015 with a degree in Psychology, Kenneth is currently a Lead Teacher and Teacher’s Assistant for Y.O.G.A. for Youth North Carolina.
Kenneth took his first Kundalini Yoga & Meditation class with Keval Kaur Khalsa in 2013. He found that it helped him deal with the physical, emotional, and psychological challenges that he experienced as a Black Boy in the South. Kundalini Yoga revealed to Kenneth an inner stillness and peace that he had only seen glimpses of during previous meditation experiences, and affirmed his power as a Black Man.
Kenneth continues to empower children of color to live in accordance with their true Selves and present their own counter narrative of what it means to be a youth of color in America.
